Dane R. Saglio
Vice President and Cheil Financial Officer
Dane Saglio serves as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Helomics™. Formerly, Mr. Saglio was the CFO for SuperNova Diagnostics; New Generation Biofuels; EntreMed Biopharmaceuticals; and has held senior financial positions with Public Communication Associates. Mr. Saglio also has extensive public and private company experience along with a wide range of corporate finance and strategic transactions experience.
Dane earned his BS in business administration from the University of Maryland and is a licensed CPA.
Mike J. Gabrin
Cheif Technology Officer
Michael Gabrin serves as the CTO/CIO of Helomics™ where he leads the development of a suite of personalized healthcare products. Formerly, Mr. Gabrin served as CTO for Vocollect, Inc., a supply chain technology startup acquired by Honeywell; and was a Development Engineer at the Westinghouse Electric Company, an innovative solutions and technology company after earning his BSEE at the University of Pittsburgh.
Gabrin has developed multiple products in laboratory and industrial
automation, digital signal and image processing, and clinical
diagnostics, by integrating machine learning, biostatistics, and
bioinformatics with various hardware/software technologies and evidence
based medicine. Mr. Gabrin is a serial entrepreneur and has experience
in start-ups and raising capital in the private markets.
Edward A. Whigham
Vice President of Sales
Edward Whigham serves as Vice President of Sales for Helomics™. Formerly, Mr. Whigham served as VP of Sales for Canada & Latin America and VP of Corporate Accounts for Given Imaging, Inc. serving the medical community with minimally invasive diagnostic products designed to identify gastrointestinal disorders. Mr. Whigham was responsible for building sales organizations, reimbursement coverage and large health system/government contracts designed to increase organizations access to a wide range of diagnostic modalities. He also served in many positions in three different divisions of Abbott Laboratories including Diagnostics, Point of Care and Diabetes Care and held positions of sales leadership, training and national contracting.
Mr. Whigham earned his M.S and B.S. in Microbiology with research in Immunology from the University of Georgia
Arlette H. Uihlein, M.D. FCAP
Dr. Arlette Uihlein serves as the Medical Director of Helomics™. Dr. Uihlein is Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, Cytopathology and Family Medicine. Dr. Uihlein completed her Pathology Residency at Allegheny General Hospital, where she served as Chief Resident in Pathology and completed Fellowships in Cytopathology and Surgical Pathology. She has conducted extensive clinical research involving molecular markers and imaging in solid tumors, and novel applications of cellular tumor markers.
Uihlein received her BS from Baldwin-Wallace College and her Doctor of
Medicine degree from The Medical College of Ohio. She is a Designated
Civil Surgeon for the U.S. Dept. of Justice and a certified Medical
Review Officer for the Dept. of Transportation. She is a Fellow of the
College of American Pathologists and the American Society of Clinical
Pathology, NYSDOH Certificate Qualified, and a member of ASCO.
Laurie K. Huard, FACHE
Vice President of Operations
Laurie Huard is the Vice President of Operations of Helomics™. She is Board Certified in Healthcare Management and holds ASCP Registry Certification in Medical Technology Formerly, Ms. Huard served as Laboratory Site Director for St. John Health System, where she provided leadership in the operation of 7 hospital-based lab facilities, 5 ambulatory center labs and successfully led integration efforts across 12 facilities. Additionally, she served as a healthcare systems consultant in the US and Europe for over 20 years with Dennis Winsten & Associates, Inc., an information technology selection and implementation company. Laurie earned her M.S. in Leadership from Georgetown University, and her B.S. from Louisiana Tech University. Her dedication to research and improvements in healthcare is highlighted in her role as a member of the Association for Molecular Pathology, the American Society of Clinical Pathology, and as a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Mark A. Friederich
Vice President of Global Market Access and Strategic Accounts
Mark Friederich serves as Vice President, Global Market Access and Strategic Accounts at Helomics™. Formerly, Mark worked as the Executive Director of Managed Markets for D2 Consulting, a life sciences consulting firm. While with D2, he created Clinical and Managed Markets Launch Strategies for more than 20 products and as many individual companies. Additionally, Mark spent 9 years with Johnson & Johnson as a Strategic Market Director where he was awarded Corporate and Industry Awards for Innovation and Strategy. Mark also has experience leading Sales Teams at Sanofi-Aventis, and with the successful payer launch of multiple new devices and products, including the Cypher Stent, Remicade Infusion, Eylea Injection, Cometriq, Kyprolis and Simponi, among others.
Mark earned his BS in Criminal Science at Western Illinois University.
